WB Movie World Germany

WB Movie World Germany
Entrance to WB Movie Word Germany

WB Movie World Germany is operated by the European division of Six Flags. Six Flags European Season Pass holders can get in with their season pass.

Me and some friends went to WB Movie World Germany on october 27, 2001 for Halloween. Be sure to read the tripreport here.

The park is located in Bottrop, Germany, not too far from the border with the Netherlands.

Hollywood Boulevard

The park is divided in several themed areas (like most parks):

The Hollywood Street Set
When you enter the park, you'll find yourself on Hollywood Boulevard. This area consists mainly of some shops and restaurants, but also has a few attractions, like Movie Magic, Bermuda Dreieck, the Police Academy Stunt Show and a 3D theatre. There's also the studio tour, but if you've been on the one from Universal Studios Hollywood, skip this one (this one is not even close the Universal one).

Looney Tunes Land at night

Looney Tunes Land
On one side of the Hollywood Street Set, is Looney Tunes land. Mostly a kids area, but it's also got rafts and a wild mouse coaster. Some of the attractions you will find here are Neverending Story (rafts), Tom & Jerry's Mouse in the House (steel wild mouse coaster), Coyote's and Roadrunner's rollercoaster (kids coaster).

The Old West

The Old West
As the name hints, this area is themed in wild west style. It's main attraction is Wild Wild West, a wooden rollercoaster. You will also find a big theatre here, were you can watch a western show (during the Halloween season you can watch a special Halloween show here).

Warner Music Club (restaurant)

Marienhof
Somehow Sunset Boulevard ended up in this area (would have expected a street with such a name to be part of the Hollywood Street Set). Some of the attractions in this area are: Lethal Weapon Pursuit (steel racing rollercoasters) and Gremlins invasion.

You can find the official WB Movie World Germany website here. WB Movie World is operated by the European division of Six Flags.

The rides at WB Movie World Germany:

Bermuda Dreieck (Bermuda Triangle)
Bermuda Dreieck
It's got an onride photoshoot, in the dark
A boatride with nice theming. Expect not to stay dry. It's mostly a darkride in a (fake) volcano and has a couple of drops.
Eraser

Another copy of Six Flags Holland's Condor. It's got less theming than most of the rides in WB and is really aimed at those who love thrills.

Tom and Jerry's Mouse in the House

Movie Magic
This is a show about special effects in movies. It consists of three parts. The first part shows you blue screen effects and the others foley (adding sound effects to movies) effects and a miniature and lifesize models. Volunteers from the audience are asked to participate. You're bound to be made ridiculous, but it's fun to, to participate.
Police Academy Stunt Show
Police Academy Stunt Show
Police Academy Stunt Show
Quite a good show. Some nice driving, a spectacular explosion and a lot of jokes.
Marienhof Carousel
Marienhof Carousel
A Carousel, located in the Marienhof area. It's beautifully lit up at night (visit WB during the Halloween season, when they are open late and it will be dark early).
