trip report
Halloween decorations near the entrance of the park

In october the Six Flags Holland stays open late into the evenings on fridays and saturdays and they have Halloween decorations and special shows. We were planning to go to WB Movie World in Germany the next day (see trip report here) and decided it would be nice to go to Six Flags Holland one more time too before the season ended.

This is going to be a rather short report since it's just about an evening. We do go to Six Flags Holland a lot (got season passes) and maybe I'll write another one next year (2002). When Goliath (new coaster) opens or so.

When I got to the park I noticed the parking lot was filled and they were even using some of the nearby fields (all owned by Six Flags anyway) to park cars. I had never seen it this crowded before. Since some people had already left for home, I managed to park near the entrance anyway. We met in the park and while we were waiting for some late arrivals (Bart and Ernst) we headed to the back of the park because Renske wanted to go on the Tomahawk (pukeride). Since most of us aren't that fond of puke rides (just give us the shows, coasters and waterrides) and this is a rather extreme one, we decided to wait in front of the Tomahawk, where we were soon rejoined by Renske when the ride was stopped cause it had just proven to be a real puke ride to someone. After Bart and Ernst finally arrived we went to see a magic show (only runs during 'Halloween season', which is the entire month of october in themeparks) in the Crazy Horse Saloon. Not truly spectacular, but a nice for a change (having seen all the regular shows in the park several times). Worth seeing once anyway.

Renske, Bart, Ngaw and Jort in the logflume

We got ourselves some fries to eat at the Old Mill (fast food), near the logflume and then entered the queue for the logflume. It was a fairly long queue, so when we finally got out of the ride it was running late. Almost all of us got on the bumpercars next and since it was almost closing time and there wasn't any queue anyway, we got seconds and thirds (lot of bumping ;-). Some of us decided this wasn't enough and squeezed in a round on nearby El Toro before we headed for the park exit.

La Grande Roue at night

Because of extra rides we did at the end, we missed the show at the end of the evening near the park entrance (we'd seen it before anyway) and all we saw was a bit of the fireworks.

It wasn't a long stay in the park, but it always looks nice with the Halloween theming and the lighting at night. We'll be back next year.
